Who the programme is for

Eligibility is based on your body mass index and your health history. Our prescribers work to these thresholds:

-A BMI of 30 or above, or
-A BMI of 27 or above with a weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnoea
-Lower thresholds apply for people of South Asian, Chinese, Black African and African-Caribbean family background, where health risks begin at a lower BMI
-Aged 18 or over, not pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive

Meeting the threshold doesn't guarantee treatment. A prescriber looks at your whole history and may decide the programme isn't right for you, or refer you to your GP.

The process

Real clinicians. Real checks. That's why it works.

Five steps, and two of them exist purely to confirm you are who you say you are and that your measurements are accurate. Services that skip these are not doing this properly.

STEP 01 · 2 MIN

Eligibility questions

Your measurements, health history, medicines and any weight-related conditions.

STEP 02 · 1 MIN

Photo ID check

Passport or driving licence, matched to a live selfie. Confirms your identity and age.

STEP 03 · 5 MIN

Independent measurement check

A short video call with a clinician, or consent for us to read your GP or clinical records. Self-reported numbers and photos are not accepted.

STEP 04 · SAME DAY

Prescriber review

A pharmacist independent prescriber decides whether the programme is appropriate, and discusses options with you.

STEP 05

Programme starts

Welcome guide, first month dispensed, and your check-in booked before anything arrives.

We keep your GP in the loop

During the assessment we ask for your GP surgery and your consent to share your treatment details. It's safer that way - your GP holds the rest of your medical picture.

If you don't have a GP

You can still apply. Our prescriber will individually review whether we can safely supply, rather than passing it automatically.

Questions before you check

Why do I need a video call?

Because your dose depends on your actual height and weight, and GPhC rules say we cannot rely on numbers you type in or a photo of your scales. Five minutes on video, or access to your records, protects you from being prescribed the wrong thing.

What if I'm not eligible?

You pay nothing, and we explain why and what would change it. Where appropriate we point you to your GP or an NHS weight management service.

What happens when I stop?

Weight regain is common after stopping, which is why the programme includes a maintenance phase and up to twelve months of support rather than ending at your last dose.

Are there side effects?

Yes, and your prescriber will go through them for whichever treatment is appropriate for you. Nausea and digestive effects are the most commonly reported with this class of medicine.
